1984 Cam is an application that allows you to create videos with the typical look of 80’s VHS recordings with the ability to add vintage effects such as custom titles, image glitches and zoom.
The interface replicates the look of an old VHS video camera with buttons on the sides of the frame that allow you to access the menu, activate and deactivate the microphone and the flash, take a photo or a selfie (although in this case it would be more appropriate say self-timer), record the video and adjust the zoom.
There are various filters to choose from: normal, bleach, black and white, red only, green or blue mode, CRT and night vision. Swiping up or down on the frame increases or decreases the intensity of the effect.
Through the menu it is possible to import the videos already acquired (but not the photos) to make them as if the shots were 30 years ago, with the possibility of setting the date and time of other times.
1984 Cam is available for Android at the standard price of € 1.09 with no in-app purchases, but right now it is offered free of charge, and asks for permissions to access the microphone, camera, photos, media and files.
The application to create vintage videos can be found in the Play Store from Google through the badge that you find under the trailer. Android 4.3 or later is sufficient for installation.
