After the problems of the past few days that have angered customers a lot, good news also arrives from WINDTRE: the works are proceeding on the operator’s 5G network, which has now announced the extension of coverage in some municipalities of the Marche with technology TDD.
The communication was issued by WINDTRE today, January 5, 2022, and concerns in particular the following cities: Ascoli Piceno, Macerata, San Benedetto del Tronto and Jesi.
Gianluca Corti, Chief Commercial Officer of WINDTRE, expressed words of satisfaction for this new step forward taken in terms of coverage of the national territory with mobile ultrabroadband connectivity, in order to overcome the digital divide:
“The centrality of digital tools and infrastructures in daily life has made it even more evident the importance of accelerating technological evolution, to support and anticipate change. WINDTRE responds to the challenge, he adds, with an increasingly fast, reliable and performing 5G network, to further improve the user experience of customers who, even on the move, want to stay connected with their work, loved ones and interests.“.
As reported on the dedicated page of the operator’s site, at present the WINDTRE 5G network achieves coverage of 95.4% of the population using FDD DSS technology (which allows “dynamically use the same FDD spectrum for both 4G and 5G connections“) And 45.6% with 5G TDD technology (the covers overlap).
The exploitation of the 5G network naturally presupposes the subscription of an offer that includes it, being in a covered area and the possession of a 5G smartphone (here is our guide to best 5G smartphones).
