WhatsApp has just started releasing a new update of the Beta version of the application for Android through the Google Play Beta Program: the version has arrived 22.214.171.124.0. Actually, it is a mere update of bug fixes – nothing to do with the many and interesting news of the last few days -, with the addition of a small reminder that does not concern us directly.
Speaking of recent news, it should be remembered that in the past few days WhatsApp announced many new features for voice messages for all users, enabled a privacy feature in the beta branch, started to officially support iOS 15 and introduced new emojis and brought the global audio player closer. All without forgetting the more delicate question that we have raised to you about the possible repercussions of the EU Digital Markets Act. We won’t see anything that relevant here, but it’s still great news to have a few fewer bugs in everyday use.
WhatsApp Beta: the news of the update 126.96.36.199.0
The most significant novelty of this new update of WhatsApp Beta concerns the fix of a bug dating back to version 188.8.131.52, which had led to incorrect positioning of the button for the creation of new chats in the tab Chat. With the latest beta, the problem has finally been solved.
To be honest, the WhatsApp team has solved other similar bugs related to the positioning of this floating key also in other sections of the app: immediately after installing the new version, the writer still found the bug in question in the tabs State And Callshowever, it was enough to move from one tab to another to see the correction applied to all sections of the application.
If this is the (small) main novelty of this new update of WhatsApp Beta, there is actually a second one that does not concern us directly: already in the beta version for Android number 184.108.40.206 we had spoken to you as the team messaging app was working on a new annual reminder about its Terms of Service for the Indian market. This change is necessary in light of the new regulations adopted in India, in this case Information Technology Rules 2021, and has just been introduced. Many more users of the beta version of the application have begun to notice a green dot in the Settings section of the app inviting them to read a warning. The same novelty – this is not exactly a new feature – may also be present in previous versions of WhatsApp Beta (such as 220.127.116.11), but remains specific to the Indian market only.
