The international OPPO Reno7 5G will be different from the Chinese ones

OPPO Reno7, OPPO Reno7 Pro and OPPO Reno7 SE have been officially presented at home for a few months and, as is known, they will make their debut on the international scene – starting from India – in a few days; in the meantime, new ones have emerged Images and information on Technical specifications, which are announced different compared to those of the Chinese models.

OPPO Reno7 5G global series: images and technical specifications

At present, to be honest, we only know that OPPO has whetted the imagination of fans about the model Reno7 Pro 5G, which seems superimposable to the Chinese counterpart; at the same time there have been conflicting reports on the model Reno7 5G “Smooth”, which instead does not seem the same as presented in China.

Now, the usually reliable leaker Sudhanshu Ambhore has shared on Twitter some high quality renders that portray the OPPO Reno7 5G that will tread on Indian and international soil. In addition to the images, the source reveals the technical specifications and the price of the smartphone.

Starting from the images, OPPO Reno7 5G Indian / global has a hole for the front camera in the upper left corner and a chin quite evident. On the back there is a triple camera. The smartphone is portrayed in black and blue colors. The images also allow you to see the positioning of the physical buttons, the microphone on the upper frame and the port for the 3.5 mm audio jack on the lower one together with: microphone, USB-C port and system speaker. The fingerprint sensor will be below the display as usual. The device is 7.81mm thick and weighs 173 grams. Moving on to the most interesting part of the data sheet, the source reports:

  • MediaTek Dimensity 900 SoC
  • rear camera: 64 MP OmniVision (OV64B) + 8 MP Ultra Wide + 2 MP macro
  • front camera: 32 MP Sony IMX615
  • 4500 mAh battery with 65W SuperVOOC charging
  • 8GB RAM + 5GB RAM expansion tech
  • 256GB of internal memory

As for the price, the source reports 30,000 rupees (approx 359 euros at the current exchange rate).

The fact that the technical specifications differ from the Chinese model suggests that a similar speech will also apply to OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G And OPPO Reno7 SE 5G, although for now it is impossible to be sure.

OPPO Reno7 5G series: the secrets of LDI design

Pending the official launch, OPPO has revealed the secrets of technology LDI used to make the Reno7 series design unique.

LDI stands for Laser Direct Imaging and is usually used to design PCBs in the aviation industry. The Chinese manufacturer emphasized how its engineers spent three years of work to be able to adapt the “aircraft-grade” LDI technology to a different purpose, which in this case is used to create 1.2 million micro-incisions with a width of just 20 microns on the surface of the rear panel of the smartphone.

The effect that this technique has allowed to obtain consists of a texture that is pleasant to the touch and which at the sight creates an illusion – according to OPPO – of shooting stars, in fact the manufacturer uses the name “Aircraft-Grade Shooting Star Design“. In addition to this, the same micro-engravings allowed the manufacturer to achieve a matte finish – matte – and brushed over the iconic OPPO Glow layer, which for the occasion changed its name to Reno Glow.

The first step of the LDI process involves coating a layer of UV protective ink on the inward-facing side of the glass to prevent it from being reached by the subsequent etching steps. This step helps to make the subsequent laser processing more precise due to the light absorbing properties of the coating.

Subsequently, the part of the glass facing outwards is coated with a layer of photoresist to then create the desired pattern and obtain the aforementioned “dynamic optical effect” when the smartphone is viewed from different angles.

As for the rear cameras, OPPO uses the naming for the new design Twin Moon Camera Design: the upper half is in metal, the lower one in ceramic, for a pleasant contrast effect.

OPPO Reno7 Pro 5G has been embellished with a further detail: the color ceramic plated lens bezel in zirconia, a new material for the manufacturer and particularly resistant (hardness of 8.5 against 5.5 of stainless steel) flanked by an additional slightly protruding protective film to protect the lens from scratches. In addition to this, the photo module of Reno7 Pro is contoured by a 1mm diameter fiber that emits a soft light and lends itself to act as an elegant notification LED.

As for the international markets, OPPO has confirmed that the Reno7 Pro 5G will have a 4,500mAh battery, an aluminum frame with flat edges and a 2.5D glass. There data sheet complete is still missing, but we already know that the smartphone will have a MediaTek Dimensity 1200-MAX SoC, fast charging at 65W, Wireless PC Connect, 7.45mm thickness, Sony IMX709 and IMX766 photo sensors.

In short, everything is ready for the international launch of the OPPO Reno7 series, only the official announcements are missing.
