HTC introduced VIVE Flowa pair of immersive VR glasses made for “well-being and conscious productivity”.
The glasses do not have their own controller, their own paired smartphone acts as a controller (Android P or later is required) via bluetooth connectivity (they support version 5.0). The glasses are fitted with adjustable diopter lenses for personalized focus to find the optimal viewing point. The glasses mount two 2.1-inch LCD screens of 1600×1600 pixel resolution with 75Hz refresh rate each offering a 100-degree field of view.
The patented double hinge design of the glasses is designed to be easy to put on and take off and includes the integration of an active cooling system that takes care of expelling heat from the ocular chamber. Speakers are integrated in positions to allow for spatial and immersive audio, while noise and echo cancellation microphones allow you to communicate clearly and without interruption.
Regarding prices and availability, the HTC Vive Flow glasses can be pre-ordered at a price of 499 dollars / 569 euros with shipments scheduled for the month of November. A demo of what can be done with these virtual reality glasses can be seen in the video below.
