Two days ahead of schedule, HONOR officially unveils the flagship product of its X series in Malaysia: with the motto “eXtra Speed, eXtra Power” he arrives HONOR X9 5Gthe international version of the HONOR X30 presented in China on December 16th.
The Chinese house had already unveiled the technical specifications of this Android smartphone at a private event organized in the United Arab Emirates.
Honor X9 5G: Snapdragon 695, 120 Hz display and 66 W fast charging
Snapdragon 695 5G by Qualcomm, display with refresh rate a 120 Hzbattery from 4800 mAh with fast charging capable of going up to 66 W. So far there would be the conditions to find ourselves in front of a very interesting mid-range.
By analyzing the technical data sheet more thoroughly, however, we realize that HONOR X9 5G is the result of some compromise choices, probably linked to one desperate race to contain costs. But let’s take a step back and start again from design.
Design and photographic sector of Honor X9 5G
The smartphone, with its rather generous dimensions, appears quite pleasing at least to the eye: the design recalls that of the top series smartphones of HONOR (the Magic4, ed), at least in its rear part; the photographic sector is in fact placed inside a large circular plate, with the three sensors and the LED flash (single) that are placed almost to recall the shape of an X.
Speaking of the photographic sector, the first pains begin: on the three sensors available, only the main one, from 48 MP, it actually makes sense; the other two are the classic sensors useless for macros and for the depth of field from 2 MP. Nothing to say, however, about the front camera, punch-hole (with hole centered in the upper part of the display), from 16 MP.
Display, performance, software
Another of the compromise choices made by HONOR can be found on the display; probably the company had to choose between equipping Honor X9 5G of a panel OLED with standard refresh rate or equip it with a panel IPS LCD but with 120 Hz refresh rate. Clearly the choice fell on the second option.
Although there is nothing to say about the processor, good for a mid-range, or about the amount of RAM, well 8 GB with the possibility of adding two more virtual through the HONOR RAM Turbomakes the memory available to the user turn up a bit: 128 GB not expandable; perhaps we could have dared more.
Analyzing the other aspects, on the connectivity side, the smartphone appears quite complete (5G networks, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.1 LE, NFC). On the software side, however, a surprise emerges with respect to what was leaked previously: nothing Magic UI 5 and no Android 12; we find the Magic UI 4.2 unfortunately still based on Android 11.
In conclusion, nothing to say about the battery from 4800 mAh with support for fast charging 66W HONOR SuperChargeable to Reload the smartphone from 0% to81% in just 30 minutes.
