Google Pixel 4a is still the last successful smartphone of the “Pixel -a” series and with theexit from the scene as soon as it has taken place it leaves the line-up of the Mountain View house visibly more empty (completely empty, in the case of Italy).
Google Pixel 4a leaves
Launched in the fall of 2020 paired with the more bodied but less economical model Google Pixel 4a 5G, Google Pixel 4a it was highly appreciated by users and professionals for many aspects (you can find our review at the following link). Starting trivially from the low price, which has made it an access point to the world Made by Google within the reach of many potential buyers, passing through the compact dimensions that are now extremely rare in the mobile panorama (even more so in a mid-range dominated by “frying pans”).
The farewell of Google Pixel 4a had been in the air for months, given that, despite being on paper still present on the Google Stores of the various countries, it was out of stock for a long time now. Now it’s official: Big G has officially started remove Google Pixel 4a from the Google Store listing American, which will be followed closely by all the others. Sullo Italian store – where neither the Pixel 4a 5G and Pixel 5a 5G range mids appear, nor the Pixel 6 – Google Pixel 4a is still visible, but anyway it is no longer available for purchase.
But the (real) successor is not there yet
In place of the Pixel 4a, Google suggests interested users to consider what is formally its successor Google Pixel 5a. The latter, officially announced in August 2021 but sold only in the USA and Japan, has never been particularly appreciated and for a good reason: although the name refers to the excellent Google Pixel 5, it is nothing more than a Google Pixel 4a 5G with a different name.
In short, users who used to place their trust in the “Pixel -a” series to buy a valid but not too expensive smartphone are already waiting for the next Google Pixel 6a. The latter should take its cue from the renewed Google Pixel 6, its technical specifications have already leaked, indeed even Google has already started playing with it.
