A new update of the beta version of WhatsApp has just landed in TestFlight beta Program, this is release 22.2.74 and contains important new clues for a long overdue feature: the chat history migration from Android to iOS.
You read that right, since we talk about migration “to” iOS, it is precisely from the beta version of the app for the apple operating system that you have to start.
WhatsApp Beta: the news of the update
Unless you have a iPhone, therefore, you will be of little or no interest in the version number (22.2.74) of WhatsApp Beta in question. Much more interesting is the sighting function.
By rewinding the tape, you will probably re-cover that we have already told you about the possibility of transferring WhatsApp chats from iOS to Samsung. In recent months, then, a broader announcement had come from Google, first touching only the Pixel and then in general Android 12.
Of the same path, but in the opposite direction (from Android to iOS) it had already been rumored last year. In particular, in WhatsApp Beta 220.127.116.11 for Android the possibility of transferring the history of WhatsApp chats from the robot to the apple was spotted. Now more details come from the other end of the line, with WhatsApp beta for iOS 22.2.74.
As you can see from the screenshots, WhatsApp will ask the user for permission to import the conversation history before starting the process. In our previous article on the subject, we told you that the app would be required to use the function Switch to iOS Apple, but we will have to return to this point in the future, when the function is actually available.
At present, unfortunately, it is not yet and essential information such as release times and versions of compatible operating systems are still missing.
