Facebook launches two new Portal smart displays, one also portable

Facebook has launched two new devices of the Portal family: the Portal Go 10-inch and the Portal + of the new generation with 14-inch HD tilting display. Both devices also arrive in Italy, with pre-orders already open today and shipments start on October 19th.

The smart display ‘Portal Go‘is called this because it is portable: it can be detached from its charging base to be taken to other parts of the house, thanks to the long-lasting battery it integrates. Portal Go includes a 12MP camera with an ultrawide field of view (125 FOV) and doubles as a portable speaker for listening to your favorite music throughout the house through two 5W wide-spectrum speakers and a 20W woofer. The display is 10.1 inches of HD resolution (800×1280 pixels). And then there is the smart display Portal + of the new generation, with a 14-inch 2160×1440 pixel resolution screen, 12MP camera with an ultra-wide field of view and two 5W wide-spectrum speakers and a 20W woofer. And with remote working becoming more widespread, it is possible to use Portal for video conferencing on Zoom, while from December 2021 Microsoft Teams will also be supported with features including calendar, contacts, file sharing and chat. And with the Calendar app you can synchronize your work calendar with Outlook or Google, synchronized with the video calling services available on Portal.
