Facebook has launched two new devices of the Portal family: the Portal Go 10-inch and the Portal + of the new generation with 14-inch HD tilting display. Both devices also arrive in Italy, with pre-orders already open today and shipments start on October 19th.
The smart display ‘Portal Go‘is called this because it is portable: it can be detached from its charging base to be taken to other parts of the house, thanks to the long-lasting battery it integrates. With a 17.37×25.65×7.87cm size body, it is designed to allow you to move conversations from room to room, just grab it by the built-in handle. Portal Go includes a 12MP camera with an ultrawide field of view (125 FOV) and doubles as a portable speaker for listening to your favorite music throughout the house through two 5W wide-spectrum speakers and a 20W woofer. The display is 10.1 inches of HD resolution (800×1280 pixels). And then there is the smart display Portal + of the new generation, with a 14-inch 2160×1440 pixel resolution screen, 12MP camera with an ultra-wide field of view and two 5W wide-spectrum speakers and a 20W woofer. The dimensions are 25.07×31.28×9.80cm.

Two new smart displays that allow you to make, among other things, video calls via Messenger, Zoom, Whatsapp and other video conferencing apps, and that as a digital assistant they have Alexa built-in (4 microphones are integrated). For privacy, they integrate a button for deactivating microphone and camera, with the latter that can also be physically covered. Connectivity includes support for dual-band WiFi (2.4GHz and 5GHz) and bluetooth 5.
The new models allow you to do things already compatible with the previous generation models. For example, you can listen to music from major streaming services such as Spotify, Pandora, iHeartRadio and more; You can use the display as a digital frame by viewing your favorite photos from Facebook and Instagram or add images from your personal phone’s camera roll (and with shared albums, you can view and share your favorite memories with friends and family). And with remote working becoming more widespread, it is possible to use Portal for video conferencing on Zoom, while from December 2021 Microsoft Teams will also be supported with features including calendar, contacts, file sharing and chat. And with the Calendar app you can synchronize your work calendar with Outlook or Google, synchronized with the video calling services available on Portal.

Prices and Availability
In Italy, Portal GO is offered at the price of 229 euros while the new Portal + at the price of 369 euros. They remain available Portal TV at the price of 169 euros e Portal at the price of 199 euros.

Portal for Business
Facebook is introducing Portal for Business, an integrated service for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to facilitate the synergy between all Portal devices present in the company. It will thus be possible to create and manage Facebook accounts, company addresses, logins and much more. Another feature for companies and workers is Portal Device Manager, an app that will allow you to manage the devices set by employees with access to Portal for Business, facilitating the integrated management of the work account, settings, restart or device reset.
